A practical project checklist for installation, line trials, safety review, training and accepted production handover.
Commissioning plan
Prepare the site, materials and acceptance evidence before attendance.
Commissioning connects the approved configuration with the real production environment. Access, guarding, utilities, line interfaces, representative bottles and caps, trained personnel and an agreed test plan all affect handover.
This is general planning guidance. The equipment instructions, site-specific risk assessment and decisions of competent people remain essential for installation, operation and maintenance.
Before delivery or attendance
- Confirm access, footprint and working clearances.
- Prepare the specified electrical and pneumatic services.
- Nominate production, engineering and safety contacts.
- Provide representative bottles, caps and product conditions.
- Agree the trial sequence and acceptance records.

Safety and competence
Commissioning does not replace the user's legal and site responsibilities.
HSE guidance explains that work equipment should be suitable, maintained in a safe condition and used by people who have received adequate information, instruction and training. Maintenance should be planned and carried out safely by competent people, with appropriate isolation and control of stored energy.
